Tyne Tour
7th November 2008 - 9th November 2008
Considered by many to be the biggest and best weekend of the year! Over 1000 canoeists and kayakers from all over the country including most of the other university canoe clubs all in one place for a lot of drinking, paddling and some crazy dancing!
The Tyne Tour is an annual paddling event, usually held over the early weekends of November, in Hexham, on the banks of the River Tyne.
It's usuall to paddle the North Tyne on one day and then see whats running the next. It's great fun for beginners and includes enough excitement, playspots and opportunity to get to know people for the more experienced paddlers.
Tickets prices will be arround £18.00 if booked in advance, this includes camping and the legendary Ceilidh. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
There is also a big meal that is organsied for the Saturday night where the club and the Friends Group get together. This will cost around £10 (again to be confirmed). It's an optional extra, but you're strongly recommended to come!
Just bring plenty of clothes, and a good sleeping bag, tent (or other housing) and you'll be good. Beer jackets are best though! oh and dont forget your hats, they are more than just head warmers ;)
